More specifically, Lars Bækgaard has become a member of bibliometrics research unit 45, which focuses on systems – and technology development, service development, facilities management and entrepreneurial research. The bibliometrics research unit is a national council affiliated with the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education, and one of its purposes is to motivate researchers to publish their work in quality journals.
Moreover, the aim is for the quality of the public research to be able to match top international research. In connection with this aim, a bibliometric research indicator designed to further publishing through the most renowned publishing channels and strengthen the quality of Danish research, has been developed. The research indicator must identify and measure Danish research publishing across various research institutions.
There are 67 bibliometrics research units, which manage a list (the authority list) of the journals that generate points according to the bibliometric research indicator. Articles published in journals represented on the list generate points on the research indicator.
